Random Thoughts

Impromptu posting here as wanted to hit on a few things. Try and contain yourself...
  • Nice, huge win for the Longhorns on Saturday night - of course it's a lot easier when the best player in the country is down for the count. Seriously though, they played very aggressive and played like they *needed* to win the game....which they did.
  • Those of you who took notice of Dogus Balbay, if you liked what you saw I think you're going to be happy for the next few years - I think we're seeing a sign of things to come. He's really kicking it up a notch in terms of aggressive play.
  • Did you see that replay of the shot that Griffin took that gave him his concussion? I still don't know how that happened.
  • I'm not positive the Big East teams won't monopolize each other - that is one hell of a conference. They are all good.
  • Is it me or does Tyler Hansbrough not seem like he's near as good this year as he was last year? But Ty Lawson? Yea, he's real good.
  • One more thing on the Horns, that win certainly secured their tournament fate, but now they're playing for seeding.
  • Rumor has it Ray Lewis wants to wear the star on his helmet. I can see it, but if Jerry is going to do that, he'd better learn to let him do what he does. And, you have to give TO his walking papers for both chemistry and cap room reasons.
  • Marvin Harrison to the Eagles, perhaps? Well, I guess they could always use one more player who's just a step beyond his prime...
  • Memo to Andre Smith: It's clear you are one dumb SOB so let me try and simplify the situation for you - you have likely just cost yourself somewhere in the neighborhood of $15 and $25 million. Way to go, enjoy pulling a Brady Quinn in this year's draft.
  • Sounds like Pat White had himself a nice little week in Indy. Maybe he'll get a shot to play QB yet.
  • A-Rod Update: So I've heard countless sports writers say things like, "the only reason he came clean is because he got caught." Oh, no sh*t? Here's a newsflash, 95% of people who have ever done anything bad/unethical and come clean did so because they got caught. There's plenty to rag on this guy about, don't resort to this crap.
  • It's a damn good thing you got things worked out Texas Tech...a damn good thing.
  • If you didn't see Jim Calhoun's press conference where the "activist" asked him about his salary, You-tube it, it's classic. He got ragged on for getting baited, but I say if there are going to be clowns like that out there, coaches have the right to rip them. You can't offer the right to any jackass with a press pass to ask the questions they want without offering that same right to the people giving the answers.
That's what I got folks.
